Autism Awareness Concert

How much do you know about autism? There are over half a million people in the UK with autism. Despite this, autism is still relatively unknown and misunderstood.

Student Action for Autism (SAFA) is holding a very special autism awareness evening on Friday 27th February at 7.30pm in The Debating Hall at Teviot. We will be welcoming Derek Paravicini. He is a blind, autistic, musical savant who is nicknamed 'The human iPOD' and can play any piece of music in any key in any style and has the gift of absolute pitch. Here are some links to information and videos about him:

We will also be welcoming guest speakers including Professor Anne O'Hare from Edinburgh University, Christine Cairns, founder of Music for Autism and the parent of an autistic child.

There will also be lots of information about how you can get involved with helping people with autism, as well as a raffle with lots of great prizes.

Free event but donations gratefully accepted!
